This Is Lagos!

Hello from a Lagos giiiiiiiiirl *in Adele’s voice* Hehehe. I sure do feel like a super star singer in this dress ;).

How’re you guys? I’m outchea chillin’ wit my homies *spot the three white cap chiefs in the background and insert suggested names here*. I tried really hard to think of befitting names for them but everything that came to me sounded too hip for white cap chiefs :D. Maybe I should just leave it to you guys? Suggest some fun names in the comments, will ya ;)?

Anyone who knows me knows I love my Lagos; it’s the city where I feel most at home despite all the chaos. And to sort of express this love, I decided to shoot this look at one of the city’s most popular landmarks: The Three Wise Men of Lagos. If you’ve ever traveled into Lagos by road, chances are you’ve seen these statues with a sign that reads “Welcome to Lagos”.

So the story goes that wayyy back in the days (long before we adopted the “handshake” culture), whenever the need arose for the King of Lagos to send emissaries to other royalties, government and nobles, he usually sent two or three white cap chiefs, who usually demonstrated the royal greetings called “owo awo“, as represented by the hand gestures of my guys here.

Okay, enough history lessons for one blog post, let’s talk about my dress. How do you guys like it? I feel super regal in it and I love it so much, I could sing to it *covers face*. The first time I wore it was to the Unofficial Christmas Party last year but all the photos I took that night were blurry. I’d since then been waiting for a time to shoot it properly for the blog and here we are!

How did your Easter holidays go? I spent mine hanging out at the beach with my family, photos coming on the blog soon if laziness doesn’t get the better of me.

Before you go, don’t forget to subscribe to my blog  and follow me on Instagram here. And I’d absolutely love to hear your thoughts about my dress. Let’s have fun in the comments! :*

Love you for reading,

Moji
